Brandon Barbarians 18 - Winnipeg Highlanders 5
The Brandon Barbarians defeated the Highlanders 18 - 5 in a wind-and-rain-swept game at Canada Games Rugby Park Saturday afternoon.
The first half was tightly contested with the Barbs leading 3-0 on a penalty kick by Sean Common. The storm, complete with lightning, thunder and a bit of hail thrown in for good measure, interrupted the play on several occasions in the 2nd half. When all was said and done, Common made another penalty kick, scored a try and converted it for a game total of 13 points. Jamie Munro added the other single try.

Please note that the first half photos may be confusing as the Highlanders were forced to play in Barbs' colours. Their jerseys were available to then in 2nd half. Some of the game photos are, unfortunately, heavily edited to correct for lousy exposures caused by the weather. |
