Barbarians 56 - Winnipeg Wasps 7
The Brandon Barbarians wrapped up their 2006 regular season play soundly defeating the Wasps 56-7 in a game Saturday at CGRP.
It took a few minutes for the Barbs to get going because this game was the first opportunity to play 15 a side in a long while. Once the confusion was over, the Barbs methodically went out to score and score again. The Wasps managed a try near the end of the first half to make the score 20-7.
Kevin Teneycke led the Barbs with three trys, followed by Jim Ritchie and Chase Fiegal with two apiece. Single trys were made by Andrew Halliday, Graham Wiebe and Tom Robson.
And so the 25th season for Barbs comes to a close. After a loss to get underway, the Barbs won 11 games in a row, scoring an incredible 504 points (that works out to 42 points A GAME!!!). The Barbs' semi-final will be played Saturday September 20. The location and the opposition will be announced later.
