Barbarians 78 - Winnipeg Assassins 8
The Brandon Barbarians will be wrapping up the club's 25th Anniversary Season with a trip to Maple Grove Saturday, October 14 to play in the Senior Men's Championship. The Barbs, winners of the "B" pool, soundly defeated the Winnipeg Assassins, 2nd place finishers of the "A" pool, 78-8 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at CGRP.
Owen Hagen, Brian Yon and Shane Morgan each made two trys. Single trys were made by Brent Gallant, Chase Fiegal, Graham Wiebe, Nathan Peto, Paul Grosskopf, Andrew Ritchie, Paul Fowell and Sean Erickson. Mason Broadfoot made three conversions and Erickson added the other.
The Assassins scored first on a penalty kick. It was all Barbarians from then on until the final minutes when the Assassins made a great effort and Pat Hansen scored his first try ever. Nice goin', Pat. May you score many more trys in your rugby career, just not against the Barbarians. Okay!
